How does one become an artists' manager/agent? I have a friend who is the most talented artist I think I've ever seen and she needs an agent she can trust. I have the intelligence, I just need to know where to start.

Can anyone recommend a resource?

Fabulous Opportunity for Holiday Shopping! [15 Sep 2008|12:18pm]

What's that you say? You don't have any plans for this Sunday, want something fun to do, and want to take advantage of the lovely cool Austin weather?

Come on out to the Arts and Crafts Show in Old Stage Park! Lots of vendors with handmade, unique items will be in attendance. (What? You don't have your ChristmaKwanzYulKah presents yet? What are you waiting for?)

Here's the vital info -

The show will be held in Old Stage Park, on Hymeadow Dr. which runs between 183 and Lake Creek Parkway and behind Alamo Draft House and Hobby Lobby. We will set up in a grassy area just off the street with high visibility under shade trees. There is free parking on the streets and a parking lot.

The date and time is Sunday afternoon, Sept. 21st from 1 pm to 5 pm.

Hope to see you there!

Tomorrow i finally finish putting my art studio together.

After that it is all Halloween all the time... then props and design and art and I cannot wait to get off the World of War"crack" and back to my werewolf and haunted house.

Intro. We unschool our boys, ages 10 and almost 12. I'm wanting to be here more an either an art enthusiast or an 'art teacher'.

My dh has some painting skills. I weave on a grandpa made loom.

I would like to be a part of this art community from a perspective of 'teaching art'. But mostly we just live or play it.

Our philosophy: Life teaches us. Art is the serendipity of life. Even though we don't create a new thing every day, art is a central theme. We don't attempt to re-invent the wheel, but on occasion we dabble in creations.

To my chagrin I often find scrolls hidden about my house. One day I will find a perfect manner in which to store our 'work' but not right this minute.

Monica

P.S. I have a very moral son, I'd have to ask permission to 'publish' his work.

Hello, I am posting this in a few places.
I am curious about painting walls.
I have an idea for a bedroom, but I am unsure what kind of paints to get. I thought I would paint a base coat with house paint (from home depot) but then perhaps create something with my acrylic paint...but I am nervous that I am just creating a big fire hazard since it isn't necessarily 'house paint'.
What do you use and where do you get it?

i'm just now getting around to posting all this:

the model was sick so we each took a turn at modeling for 30 minutes each (clothed, of course). here is a series of images. first, the drawing i drew, then all of the drawings of that person together (minus one that i forgot). we each got to keep all of the drawings of ourselves.

Creation Through Inspiration(In Progress)

By Jon P. Provins

This is my newest work. No really... I want to do more to it, but I got this far about half an hour ago. What inspired this? Was this my way of baring my soul for all to see? was this some random piece which, like so many others, I did simply to see if I could? Maybe it was neither, or maybe it was both. Who knows? Who cares? the real question is what do you think?
